Description For Mechanical Engineer

Microsoft's Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative cloud infrastructure division. This role is perfect for recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates in Mechanical Engineering, offering an opportunity to work on server and rack products that power Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be integral to creating and refining CAD designs for server and rack products, working alongside external partners through the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. You'll be responsible for testing, prototype development, and ensuring high-quality standards in product design and optimization.

The position is based in Taipei, Taiwan, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing up to 50% work from home. You'll be part of the team that powers Microsoft's over 200 online businesses, including Azure, Office 365, Xbox Live, and Teams. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with some internship experience. Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer

  • Interpret specification sheets for testing and develop drawings for product features
  • Carry out testing on standard features or products and coordinate external testing
  • Identify design flaws using basic data analysis and validate features by helping build prototypes
  • Follow project schedules to deliver hardware engineering aspects
  • Choose appropriate parts and evaluate materials and techniques used in production
  • Implement risk assessments, communicate team progress and create detailed reports
  • Document materials, components, and assemblies details

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ months of related technical engineering experience or internship experience
  • Must be graduating between 9/2024~8/2025
