Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join their team responsible for delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's cloud services. The role is based in San Antonio, Texas, with a focus on datacenter operations and mechanical systems.

The position offers an opportunity to work with a global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters across 32 countries, supporting major services like Azure, Office 365, Xbox, and OneDrive. The engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing mechanical systems that support Microsoft's massive cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have at least a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience. A key requirement is an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI access. The role involves both hands-on technical work and collaborative projects with various teams.

  • Understand datacenter design and functionality
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenter operations and mechanical infrastructures
  • Act as technical authority for on-site operations of large-scale mechanical systems
  • Collaborate on data center mechanical designs from conception to construction
  • Establish maintenance & safety procedures
  • Assist with supplier selection and oversee mechanical supplier execution

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer II - CTJ - Poly

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field AND 1+ year(s) related technical engineering experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field AND 2+ years related technical engineering experience
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to SCI based on SSBI with Polygraph
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
