Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Water Treatment Systems to join their datacenter operations team. This role is crucial in supporting Microsoft's vast infrastructure of over 200 datacenters across 32 countries, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design, operation, and maintenance of large-scale mechanical systems in Microsoft's datacenters. The role combines technical expertise in water treatment systems with datacenter operations, requiring both hands-on engineering experience and strategic thinking. You'll work with cutting-edge infrastructure while supporting Microsoft's commitment to environmental sustainability and optimization.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer - Water Treatments Systems

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities
  • Understand the design and functionality of datacenter
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenter operations and mechanical infrastructures
  • Act as technical authority for on-site operations of large-scale mechanical systems and designs
  • Collaborate with Operations and Design team for data center mechanical designs
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance & safety procedures
  • Assist with supplier selection and overseeing mechanical supplier execution

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer - Water Treatments Systems

  • Bachelor's OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field AND related technical engineering experience
  • Experience working with projects in data center, oil and gas or chemicals (or related process industry)
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
  • Experience in Water Treatment systems, Gas plant operation or ISO14001/50001 management systems (preferred)
