Description For Member of Technical Staff - Data Engineer

Microsoft AI (MS AI) is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to help build the next wave of capabilities of our personal AI, Copilot. As Microsoft continues to push the boundaries of AI, we are looking for passionate individuals to work with us on the most interesting and challenging AI questions of our time. Our vision is to build systems with true artificial intelligence across agents, applications, services, and infrastructure, making AI accessible to all - consumers, businesses, and developers.

The Data Engineering team is responsible for building data platforms that support our work in finetuning and deploying the core experience of Copilot, while collaborating with Product Management, Design and AI Research teams. The ideal candidate will possess technical prowess, a methodical approach to problem-solving, proficiency in data technologies, and expertise in architecting scalable solutions.

You will be working on building secure and performant AI Platform services, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and shipping high-quality, maintainable code. The role requires experience with cloud infrastructure, data warehouse systems, and extensive database knowledge. You'll need to be adaptable, able to overcome challenges, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers competitive compensation with a base pay range of $153,600 - $250,200 for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area. This role requires being local to either New York, San Francisco, or Seattle area with in-office presence 3 days a week. Requirements For Member of Technical Staff - Data Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering work
  • 2+ years' experience building scalable services on public cloud infrastructure like Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • 2+ years' experience building data warehouse systems at scale
  • Extensive database knowledge including data governance, data collectors, fact tables, and historical data process
