Description For Member of Technical Staff - Data Infrastructure Engineer

Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Data Infrastructure Engineers to join their mission of building personal AI and Copilot systems. This role is part of the Data Platform team, responsible for building core data pipelines that help fine-tune models and support introspection of data to improve human-AI interactions. The position requires working from either New York City or Redmond office 3 days a week.

The ideal candidate will possess technical prowess in distributed systems, data operations, and ML operations, with extensive experience in managing high-volume, low-latency data systems. You'll be working on mission-critical applications and platform components that power Microsoft's AI initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Engineers, and AI Researchers.

The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $137,600 to $267,000 per year (higher in NYC and SF Bay Area), along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and parental leave.   • Work on delivery of high-quality service and components

Requirements For Member of Technical Staff - Data Infrastructure Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
  • 6+ years of experience in data operations, ML operations role
  • 4+ years' experience managing distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in scripting languages writing automation, health check services, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and supporting high performance production systems
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure like Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Knowledge of AI, Deep Learning, Machine learning
