Description For Member of Technical Staff - Data Infrastructure Engineer

Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Data Infrastructure Engineers to join their mission of building personal AI and Copilot systems. This role focuses on building core data pipelines for model fine-tuning and improving human-AI interactions. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge AI technology while being part of Microsoft's broader mission to empower every person and organization globally.

The position requires working from either New York or Seattle office 3 days per week, offering a competitive salary range of $180,400 - $294,000 for these locations. Requirements For Member of Technical Staff - Data Infrastructure Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
  • 6+ years of experience in data operations, ML operations role
  • 4+ years experience managing distributed systems at scale
  • Experience in scripting languages, automation, health check services, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting high performance production systems
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of datastores, RDBMS, key-value stores, messaging systems
