Description For Member of Technical Staff - Full Stack Software Engineer

Microsoft AI is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their team working on Copilot, their advanced AI assistant. This role involves working across all four stages of their evaluation platform: data sampling, AI data collection and processing, data analysis/evaluation, and dashboarding. The position requires expertise in full-stack development, including database backend, middle-tier services, front-end browser automation, and statistical analysis.

The role is based in Redmond, WA, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days in office per week. You'll be part of Microsoft AI, a newly formed organization dedicated to advancing Copilot and other consumer AI products and research. The team oversees critical products including Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge AI technologies and contribute to various surfaces including desktop, web, and mobile applications. The platform you'll be working on is crucial for assessing Copilot's relevance, accuracy, performance, and user experience. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and have the opportunity to shape the future of AI-powered personal computing.

Responsibilities For Member of Technical Staff - Full Stack Software Engineer

  • Data sampling and filtering of search queries and prompts protecting the privacy of users
  • Distribution across various segments like Technology, Sports, Finance, Entertainment, News etc.
  • Run browser automation to simulate user engagement with Copilot and capture the AI response
  • Fetch the responses, citations, screenshots, performance markers
  • Process and send the data to the evaluation platform for ratings, reasoning and feedback
  • Post analyze the labeled data and build dashboards to present the insights
  • Work closely with the product team to improve the quality and fill the gaps

  • Development & Debugging with Visual Studio 2019 or above
