Description For Member of Technical Staff, Platform Engineer

Microsoft AI (MS AI) is seeking experienced Platform Engineers to help build the next wave of capabilities of their personal AI, Copilot. This role is part of Microsoft's bold vision to build systems with true artificial intelligence across agents, applications, services, and infrastructure. The Platform Engineering team is responsible for building APIs that support work in finetuning and deploying the core experience of Copilot, while collaborating with Product Management, Design and AI Research teams.

The ideal candidate will possess technical prowess, methodical problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in backend technologies. They should have extensive experience with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and building scalable services. The role requires someone who can bring positive energy, empathy, and effectiveness to the team while enjoying building world-class consumer experiences in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in Mountain View, CA, requiring 3 days per week in office, and offers competitive compensation ranging from $153,600 to $250,200 for the San Francisco Bay area. The role involves working with cutting-edge AI technology, including experience with AI platforms, frameworks, and machine learning models.
