Description For Member of Technical Staff - Software Engineer

Microsoft AI is seeking a Member of Technical Staff - Software Engineer to join their team working on Copilot and other innovative AI products. This role focuses on building foundational models and developing novel responsible and efficient artificial general intelligence. The position involves working with large GPU clusters, benchmarking, profiling, and tuning AI models for optimal performance.

As a key member of the team, you'll be responsible for developing and optimizing training and inference systems for generative AI models running on production GPU clusters. You'll work closely with model scientists to implement cutting-edge tools and techniques, ensuring the smooth operation of AI jobs across thousands of GPUs. The role requires expertise in distributed computing, generative AI, and strong programming skills.

Responsibilities For Member of Technical Staff - Software Engineer

  • Develop and tune the pretraining scalable software for Nvidia GB200 72NVL CX8 and AMD MIxxx architectures
  • Benchmark GB200 and AMD MIxxx GPU clusters
  • Gather data and insights to develop the pretraining compute roadmap
  • Care deeply about conversational AI and its deployment
  • Actively contribute to the development of AI models
  • Find a path to get things done despite roadblocks
  • Work in a fast-paced, design-driven, product development cycle

Requirements For Member of Technical Staff - Software Engineer
