Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Network Security Service Engineer to join their team in defending Microsoft's datacenter infrastructure. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's major online services. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with modern cloud and on-premises cybersecurity controls, protecting critical infrastructure from threats.

Responsibilities For Network Security Service Engineer

  • Proactively identify and investigate potential issues and patterns in security controls and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain security hardware, operating system and software
  • Identify gaps in security policy and administration, recommend solutions, and implement new security standards
  • Maintain standards and drive improvements for customer and partner experience
  • Participate in on-call rotation to support security services
  • Analyze attempted or successful security compromises and create recommendations
  • Analyze potential or actual intrusions and create detections based on available data
  • Embody company culture and values

Requirements For Network Security Service Engineer

Linux
  • Experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, cyber security, anomaly detection, SOC detection
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
  • Strong background in Firewalls or Intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, or Security+ certification (preferred)
  • Experience in infrastructure, cloud or cyber security, and anomaly detection (preferred)
  • Experience leading a security function (preferred)
