Outside Plant Telecom Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking an Outside Plant Telecom Engineer to join their team in Tokyo, Japan. This role is crucial in designing and engineering outside plant routing for Microsoft's metro and long-haul connectivity requirements. The position involves working with the Sourcing team, delivery team, and fiber network providers to ensure network standards are met.

The role is part of Microsoft's massive cloud infrastructure, which includes over 200 data centers across 32 countries, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses globally. The successful candidate will contribute to building world-class network infrastructure, working with Metro Dark Fiber, Long-Haul Fiber, subsea, and Lit Wave circuits.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, strong project management skills, and bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English. The work environment is hybrid, with up to 50% work from home opportunity. Key responsibilities include optical fiber network design, quality assurance, and maintaining network records.
