Description For Principal Applied AI Engineer

Microsoft Security is seeking a Principal Applied AI Engineer to join their Security AI Research team, focusing on defending Microsoft and its customers through applied AI innovation. This role represents a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, developing cutting-edge solutions for one of the world's leading technology companies.

The position involves working with Microsoft's Threat Intelligence Center and Red Team to build and evaluate autonomous defense and offense capabilities through emerging generative AI technologies. You'll need to demonstrate expertise in shipping large-scale ML/AI-based services and a track record of turning cutting-edge research into practical solutions.

Responsibilities For Principal Applied AI Engineer

  • Review business and product requirements, incorporate research, and provide strategic direction for problem solving
  • Conduct cutting-edge research for defensive and red teaming AI capabilities
  • Work with defenders, threat hunters, PMs, researchers and engineers to turn research into effective solutions
  • Build scalable, reliable, and secure industry-leading systems
  • Produce reliable code and conduct design and code reviews
  • Follow release management policies to ensure data integrity, compliance, and system stability

Requirements For Principal Applied AI Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related experience
  • Master's Degree in related field AND 4+ years related experience
  • Doctorate in related field AND 3+ years related experience
  • Experience in shipping large-scale ML/AI-based services
  • Experience driving cutting-edge research into real world impact
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
