Principal Data Engineer, Supply Chain

Microsoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to support their global datacenter Supply Chain operations. This key role within the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team will focus on designing and executing data models for critical environment data center supply chain.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with Microsoft's massive infrastructure, comprising over hundred datacenters and million servers that support billions of customers worldwide. The role combines technical expertise in data engineering with business-critical supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate will bring 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with specific expertise in data modeling for operations and supply chains. They should be proficient in SQL/KQL, Python, Java, and comfortable working with cloud platforms and big data technologies.

Key responsibilities include ensuring data governance, optimizing data tools, implementing data extraction and validation processes, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive business value. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $137,600 to $267,000 (higher in SF and NYC areas), along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and parental leave.
