We are leading with innovation, as highlighted by bringing Xbox to new devices with Cloud Gaming, bringing the Game Pass subscription to PC, and our recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard King creating exciting new possibilities for players.

The Xbox Experiences and Platforms team is home to the engineering work that makes this vision possible, building the developer tools and services that enable game creators to craft incredible experiences, the commerce systems that connect publishers with their audience and help gamers engage with their next favorite games, the platforms on which those games play at their best, and the experiences that turn every screen into an Xbox.

We are hiring an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team that enables various scenarios across Xbox Platform including Cloud Gaming. The charter includes building secure backend services, tools that improve services reliability and testability, developer tools and focus on quality and data engineering functions.

You will coach and lead a fun-loving, diverse team that seeks challenges, loves learning and values teamwork. You will collaborate with other managers and partners to build solutions that span across multiple services in a dynamic and agile environment and have opportunities to contribute to career growth of individuals, engineering architecture, business strategy, and work on high-business impact areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong people management skills – Focus on building the right team culture with emphasis on diversity and Inclusion, proven ability to coach team members in various career stages with varied aspirations, ability to help them technically while giving them the opportunities to learn and grow is a core competency to have.
  • Drive For Results - Being able to drive for results, not merely finding the boundary of your responsibility, but following a problem through to its conclusion, to solve it for the gamer by being the customer advocate, collaborating with partner teams to solve it the right way for the Gaming division.
  • Technical Excellence - Ability to quickly understand the gaming industry, collaborate with both the engineering and project management teams, and contribute to scenario development. It also involves using best practices and industry standards to address challenges, designing solutions for immediate and future growth, and consistently delivering innovative results.
  • Directly manage and mentor a dedicated team of 8 to 10 software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Multi-functional – Ability to manage and grow a team working on different aspects of the business.
