Description For Principal Research Security Engineer

Microsoft Security is seeking a Principal Research Security Engineer to join their Security Health and Analytics Engineering organization in the Netherlands. This role focuses on developing attack simulation capabilities to protect Microsoft and its customers from cyber threats. The position involves leading research into emerging threats, designing end-to-end attack simulations, and working closely with security research teams across Microsoft.

The ideal candidate will join a highly skilled team in a dynamic and emerging product space, where they'll establish and grow partnerships with security research teams and other security professionals. They'll be responsible for researching emerging threats and implementing end-to-end attack simulation scenarios.

Responsibilities For Principal Research Security Engineer

  • Lead research into emerging threats, composing end-to-end Kill Chains, designing and building simulations to replay complex attack scenarios
  • Work with project stakeholders to prioritize of the most relevant attack scenarios
  • Work with attack engineers and partner teams to design and develop new attack simulations, features & capabilities
  • Provide technical mentorship to team members, growing a diverse range of attack skills across the team

Requirements For Principal Research Security Engineer

Python
Java
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience in pen testing, security research or adversary emulation spaces
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Relevant experience with programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python
  • Experience with Cloud based environments and architectures
