Description For Principal Technical Program Manager

Microsoft's Azure Customer Experience Platform (CXP) team is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to transform Cloud customers into fans. This role focuses on improving platform supportability through data-driven insights across Azure services. The position requires a customer-obsessed, AI-curious problem-solver who can thrive in an inclusive, collaborative global team.

As a Principal TPM, you'll lead the creation and implementation of supportability strategy, working closely with Engineering teams running multi-cloud services. The role involves planning vision and strategy, establishing accountability across teams, and managing execution of large-scale initiatives that impact Azure's breadth.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $137,600 - $267,000 (higher in SF and NYC areas), along with comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Principal Technical Program Manager

  • Set course and direction for the Supportability strategy and standards across Microsoft cloud
  • Develop and execute Supportability strategic and roadmap to make Azure the most stable, reliable, and performant cloud
  • Drive continuous improvement to customer and engineer experience
  • Apply systems thinking and standards approach to solve problems at scale, and through automation
  • Influence product investment in Supportability and provide technical leadership
  • Define success metrics and path to achievement
  • Foster a healthy and inclusive team environment

Requirements For Principal Technical Program Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • Strong knowledge of program management practices
  • Deep understanding of engineering practices followed by cloud services
  • Experience with implementing Supportability-by-design
  • Experience with Systems and Standards based engineering organizations
