Description For Security Assurance Engineer

Microsoft Security is seeking a Security Assurance Engineer to join their AI Safety & Security team within the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC). This role combines program management and security engineering to protect Microsoft's AI systems and customers from security vulnerabilities and safety risks.

The position involves building and leading Microsoft's end-to-end response process for AI-related security vulnerabilities and safety harms. You'll work at the intersection of artificial intelligence and security, analyzing complex issues, determining root causes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

As a Security Assurance Engineer, you'll be responsible for investigating security vulnerabilities, managing cases, and communicating with both internal stakeholders and external security researchers. The role requires strong technical expertise in AI security and safety, combined with excellent analytical and communication skills.

The compensation is competitive, with a base salary range of $81,900 - $160,200 USD annually (higher in SF Bay Area and NYC). Microsoft offers comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, parental leave, and investment options.

  • Ability to explain complex technical and security concepts
  • Experience with security vulnerability research and investigation
