Description For Security Assurance Engineer

Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) is seeking a Security Assurance Engineer to join their AI Safety & Security team. This role combines program management and security engineering to protect Microsoft's AI systems and customers. The position focuses on building and leading Microsoft's end-to-end response process for AI-related security vulnerabilities and safety harms.

The role requires a unique blend of technical security expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Safety, along with operational excellence. You'll be working with billion-dollar services and collaborating across the company to protect customers, Microsoft, and communities from various threats. The position involves analyzing security and safety issues, determining root causes, and recommending mitigations.

As part of Microsoft's larger security organization, you'll contribute to their mission of making the world safer through end-to-end, simplified security solutions. The compensation is competitive, with base pay ranging from $81,900 to $160,200 USD annually (higher in San Francisco and New York City areas). Responsibilities For Security Assurance Engineer

  • Contribute to Microsoft's AI Security and Safety response process in partnership with stakeholders
  • Analyze security & safety issues to determine root cause, harm category and impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to represent Microsoft with external organizations
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance data
  • Exercise and grow subject matter expertise in AI safety and security
  • Demonstrates technical curiosity and passion for AI technologies

Requirements For Security Assurance Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field
  • 1+ year(s) experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Knowledge of Security Development Lifecycle (SDL)
  • Ability to explain complex technical and security concepts
  • Experience with security vulnerability research community
