Description For Security Engineer

As a Security Operations Engineer, you'll be responsible for protecting Microsoft's most critical services, known as the Trusted Computing Base (TCB). The role involves defending against cyberattacks, driving isolation from other services, and continuously improving security based on attack learnings. You'll work with cutting-edge technology to protect against both internal pen-test teams and external threats, including nation-state actors.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer

  • Learn about the structure and make up of the most critical Microsoft Cloud services
  • Study relevant cyberattacks and define key security outcomes needed to protect the TCB
  • Collaborate with partners across Azure and M365 to measure security impact and ship service updates
  • Help run the TCB program by running weekly rhythm of business meetings
  • Report on project status in various reviews, partner briefings, & security conferences

Requirements For Security Engineer

  • 1+ year(s) of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, cyber security, anomaly detection, SOC detection, threat analytics, SIEM, IT, and operations incident response
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
  • Experience in IAM and secrets management space
  • Ability to influence and drive strategies across a large organization
  • Ability to set vision, deliver and communicate solutions to complex technical problems
  • Personal accountability for end-to-end quality and completeness
