This role is crucial in protecting digital platforms, devices, and clouds in heterogeneous environments. The position involves working with the Identity Product Security team, focusing on identifying and mitigating security issues in product offerings.

As a Security Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of Identity security at Microsoft, working on critical priorities in a world facing increasing digital threats and regulatory scrutiny. The role combines technical expertise with collaborative teamwork, requiring both deep security knowledge and strong communication skills. You'll work closely with various teams including MSTIC, MSRC, M365, Xbox, and Azure to achieve security objectives.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of cybersecurity experience, with knowledge of identity systems, threat intelligence, and fraud prevention. You'll need to quickly understand complex systems, build mental models, and reason about security properties. The position offers a hybrid work environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility.

  • Provide security expertise for response teams on vulnerabilities and attacks
  • Serve as subject matter experts for bug bounty issues and security concerns
  • Review root cause of security incidents and abstract lessons learned
  • Develop new processes and automation to scale security processes
  • Collaborate with engineering and partner teams (MSTIC, MSRC, M365, XBox, Azure)

Requirements For Security Engineer - Identity

  • 4+ years experience in cybersecurity, anomaly detection, software development lifecycle, or data science
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience
  • Experience in identity systems, security, threat intelligence, fraud, abuse
  • Ability to drive decisions through data with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Python, SQL, C#, C++
  • Strong communication skills with collaboration focus
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
