Microsoft Security is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join their organization. The role involves ensuring that virtualized endpoints are released with proper security protections, focusing on providing access to the right resources at the right time, protected every step of the way. The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering functions, knowledge of Azure Compute (including Azure AVD), Windows Server OS, enterprise infrastructure, and overall service health and monitoring.
Key responsibilities include: • Identifying opportunities and implementing automation to improve service health, manageability, reliability, and telemetry • Automating security protections such as asset security patching • Configuring and scripting end-to-end service telemetry, alerting, and self-healing capabilities • Triaging, investigating, and resolving service issues • Authoring functional and technical documentation • Communicating with product engineering, project management, and operations teams • Staying current on new technologies and coding practices
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree (or currently pursuing) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field • OR 1+ year(s) of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response
Preferred Qualifications: • Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, Security+) • Experience in Programming (Python, .Net or C# or equivalent) • Experience with writing tools, automation, and enhancements in arbitrary subcomponents of services/products • Experience with PowerShell/Scripting and Windows Services infrastructure
