Microsoft 365 FastTrack team is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join their Secure Infrastructure team. This role is part of Microsoft Engineering, focusing on driving business value and customer success using Microsoft 365 and related technologies. The position offers 100% remote work within the United States and involves ensuring security policy accuracy, designing mitigation strategies, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities For Security Operations Engineer

  • Ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness in security policy and design mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure service level agreements
  • Design customer experience by sharing best practices and resolving issues
  • Analyze attempts to compromise systems security
  • Use monitoring techniques to identify intrusions
  • Understand weaponized code and recommend detections and signatures
  • Design evolving common infrastructure architecture
  • Support development teams with securing applications and services
  • Stay relevant with emerging Azure features including risk and security principles
  • Partner with engineering, program management and operations personnel

Requirements For Security Operations Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field OR 3+ years of experience
  • Experience with security policy, security trends and mitigation strategies
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security
  • Experience with anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics
  • Experience with security incident and event management (SIEM)
  • Experience in information technology (IT) and operations incident response
