Description For Senior Customer Experience Engineer

Microsoft's Azure Customer Experience (CXP) team is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join their fast-growing organization. This role focuses on implementing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) monitoring solutions for top Azure customers. As a key member of the Observability team, you'll ensure reliability, availability, and performance of customer applications on Microsoft Azure.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a customer-obsessed environment, solving complex technical challenges in cloud computing. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining robust SLO monitoring systems, working directly with customers to enhance their Azure experience. The role combines technical expertise with customer interaction, requiring both strong engineering skills and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities For Senior Customer Experience Engineer

  • Collaborate with customers to jointly define and establish SLOs and SLIs
  • Instrument code to measure SLOs, develop solutions to detect SLO breaches
  • Develop automated solutions and troubleshooting guides
  • Collaborate with service engineering teams to develop solutions
  • Ensure customer-centric SLOs are consistently exceeded
  • Analyze SLO data for trends, improvements, and reliability risks
  • Proactively engage customers on SLO performance
  • Lead optimization efforts for system performance, scalability, and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to customer-specific SLOs, SLIs, and monitoring processes

Requirements For Senior Customer Experience Engineer

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years software industry experience
  • 6+ years experience with designing, implementing, debugging and launching commercial software products or web services
  • Expertise in designing and implementing monitoring design and Architectures for end customers in Azure
  • 3+ years experience in designing Observability and monitoring solutions
  • 3+ years experience in an external client facing role
  • Experience in observability, SRE OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Datadog, AzureMonitor, AI, ML
  • Proven expertise in implementing and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs)
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
