Description For Senior Lease Construction Manager

Microsoft's Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team is seeking a Senior Lease Construction Manager to join their Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) team. This role is crucial in managing the construction and delivery of Microsoft's global datacenter infrastructure that powers the world's largest online services. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in datacenter design, engineering, and controls, along with strong project management capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for complete project delivery of Ready for Service (RFS) for lease site locations, ensuring compliance with Data Center Development guidelines and standards. They will work closely with Microsoft's Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders, managing projects from lease execution through completion. The role emphasizes safety as a primary pillar, alongside quality, schedule adherence, and cost management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to impact Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% work from home flexibility, though it requires 25-50% travel to datacenter sites. Responsibilities For Senior Lease Construction Manager

  • Manage a safe worksite as a relentless advocate
  • Identify and manage stakeholder dependencies and construction deliverables
  • Manage lease providers and support associated teams in delivering RFS (Ready for Service)
  • Monitor and oversee project budget and controls
  • Partner with Internal Cloud Operations + Innovation and other Microsoft key stakeholders
  • Facilitate the delivery of metro-based/campus projects
  • Oversee procurement activities and resource management
  • Drive campus-based delivery solutions
  • Conduct safety program audits and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Review engineering documentation/designs and provide technical recommendations

Requirements For Senior Lease Construction Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience
  • 5+ years in construction project management of Datacenters or Mission Critical Facilities
  • Construction health & safety knowledge
  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff
  • Must be able to work within a dynamic team of full-time employees and consultants
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Willingness to travel 25-50%
