Description For Senior Principal Silicon Engineer

Microsoft's Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is seeking a Senior Principal Silicon Engineer to join their Data Processing Unit (DPU) team within Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge silicon solutions with planet-scale impact. The position involves developing and validating high-performance, low-power, scalable DPU silicon that powers Microsoft's vast cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will bring 11+ years of technical engineering experience, with deep expertise in SOC Tapeouts, networking protocols, and hardware verification. You'll be working at the intersection of hardware and software, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that power Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure.

Requirements For Senior Principal Silicon Engineer

Python
  • 11+ years of related technical engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Multiple SOC Tapeouts involving Ethernet, RDMA, TCP/IP, MAC/PCS, Packet forwarding, P4 pipelines
  • Knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog, UVM, C++, Python and Perl
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and in a team
  • Must be able to meet Microsoft security screening requirements
  • Must be eligible for export control regulations compliance
