Microsoft Security is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Azure Hardware and Firmware DevSec team. This role involves shaping the landscape of platform security, conducting security reviews, threat modeling, design and code assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis for both Microsoft and third-party HW/FW solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting threat modeling and security assessments of Azure HW/FW solutions and cloud infrastructure
- Performing comprehensive security reviews of high-risk features within Azure
- Collaborating with hardware ecosystem partners to establish security solutions and requirements
- Contributing to development policies, standards, and practices
- Researching emerging threats impacting cloud services
- Communicating findings through white papers and security assessment reports
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree
- Profound understanding of server platform buses and peripherals
- Proficiency in hardware description languages (HDL) and RTL
- Deep understanding of security vulnerabilities and attacks
- Experienced coding skills in C/C++, C#, assembly, Rust, Python, and others
- Detailed understanding of encryption, low-level networking protocols, operating systems
