Microsoft Security is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their Azure Security Monitoring team, focusing on building and maintaining large-scale microservices that process terabytes of data daily to protect Microsoft Azure. This role combines cybersecurity expertise with advanced technical skills in software development and machine learning.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $117,200 - $229,200 (higher in SF and NYC areas) and comes with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and parental leave. The role is remote-friendly with up to 100% work from home options and minimal travel requirements (0-25%).
As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing critical infrastructure to protect Azure compute resources. The role requires 5+ years of experience in software development and cybersecurity, with a strong background in programming languages like C++/C#, Python, or Scala. Knowledge of AI/ML techniques for cybersecurity applications is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Senior Security Engineer
- Design, develop and maintain high scale services that form the backbone of Security Monitoring
- Execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks
- Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security
- Collaborate with partners to design and build features for protecting Microsoft products and services
- Work in a culture of continuous learning, adaptation, reflection, and growth
- Mentoring peers to ensure engineering best practices and high-quality code
- Championing a 'can do' attitude across the org
Requirements For Senior Security Engineer
- 5+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, cybersecurity, anomaly detection
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of experience programming in C++/C# or Python or Scala or similar technologies
- Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years
- 2+ years of experience in applying AI/ML techniques to cybersecurity challenges (preferred)
