Description For Senior Silicon Engineer

Microsoft's Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is at the forefront of delivering critical infrastructure for Microsoft's vast cloud operations. As a Senior Silicon Engineer in the Data Processing Unit (DPU) team, you'll be part of the Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure group, focusing on developing cutting-edge silicon solutions with planet-scale impact.

The role involves working on front-end silicon development, specifically in validating and implementing programmable silicon solutions for datacenter challenges. You'll collaborate closely with architecture teams to develop innovative DPU silicon implementations, utilizing SystemVerilog/UVM based environments for verification and testing.

This position offers unique exposure to various domains required in DPU silicon development, providing an excellent opportunity to work with complex engineering problems while contributing to Microsoft's cloud infrastructure. The role demands expertise in design verification, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in team settings.

Working in a hybrid environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility, you'll be part of a team that powers Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission, supporting over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally.

Responsibilities For Senior Silicon Engineer

  • Develop SystemVerilog/UVM based testbench
  • Work with vendors and IP providers to integrate their IP into testbench
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Execute test plans and analyze results
  • Work closely with architecture, design and verification teams to ensure successful tapeout
  • Participate in design and verification reviews
  • Participate in the development of verification strategies and plans

Requirements For Senior Silicon Engineer

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 8+ years of Design Verification experience
  • Experience in System Verilog/UVM based testbench environment
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and in a team
