Microsoft's Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is seeking a Senior Silicon Engineer to join their Data Processing Unit (DPU) team within Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure. This role focuses on ASIC verification and silicon validation for datacenter solutions. You'll be part of the front-end silicon team, responsible for delivering cutting-edge, high-performance, low-power, scalable, and programmable DPU silicon. The position offers exposure to various domains required for DPU silicon development, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth.
The role involves working with complex ASIC SOC validation using UVM/C test bench, performing both pre-silicon verification and post-silicon/FPGA validation. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, design, verification, and partner teams to influence next-generation designs. The position requires expertise in developing test plans, creating C tests, and building infrastructure for functional validation of complex designs.
As a senior member of the team, you'll lead key validation components, debug failures, create stress and performance scenarios, and actively participate in chip bring-up activities. The role also involves mentoring team members and driving innovation in validation methodologies and tools. This position offers the opportunity to work on solutions that have planet-scale impact, powering Microsoft's vast cloud infrastructure and over 200 online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Teams, and Xbox Live.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in pre-silicon validation, particularly with high-performance network switches/accelerators, CPUs, vector processors, or GPUs. Knowledge of networking protocols and architectures is essential. Microsoft offers comprehensive benefits including industry-leading healthcare, educational resources, parental leave, and opportunities for professional growth and networking.
