Mojang Studios, the creators of Minecraft, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Minecraft Marketplace Player Facing Services team. This role is crucial in powering services that support hundreds of millions of Minecraft players, focusing on marketplace personalization and recommendations. The position involves working with C# services running on K8 clusters with Linux containers and various Azure technologies.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take end-to-end ownership of development and quality for products and services that enhance the Minecraft experience. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including Art, Design, Production, and Test to develop and deploy new features. You'll be responsible for evaluating requirements, estimating costs, and implementing solutions that scale to serve Minecraft's massive player base.

The position offers a hybrid work environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility. Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer, Minecraft

  • Defines initiatives that impact our games or services, working with cross functional teams and product managers
  • Ensures timely, high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements
  • Builds partnerships with developers, program managers, and designers
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers
  • Monitors system/product/service and handles on-call responsibilities

Requirements For Senior Software Engineer, Minecraft

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience
  • Experience with C#, C++, C, or Java
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud services
  • Understanding of test- and performance-driven methodology
  • Experience building RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with Terraform or equivalent declarative language
