Site Reliability Engineer II

Microsoft's Azure Data group is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to join their world-class engineering team. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and serviceability of Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance services. You'll work with cutting-edge database technologies, handling systems that support hundreds of terabytes of data and thousands of users.

The position offers unique challenges in distributed systems and cloud services, requiring expertise in debugging, automation, and service reliability. You'll be part of the Azure Data team within the C+AI Azure organization, working on highly impactful features at scale. The role involves close collaboration with feature teams to design, implement, and release reliable and serviceable features.

As an SRE, you'll be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of Azure SQL Database services, implementing automated issue resolution systems, and ensuring high availability. The role requires cross-domain expertise and a holistic understanding of cloud services. You'll work with some of the industry's best engineers, tackling challenges across the entire database technology stack - from connectivity to transaction processing.

The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills, experience with debugging tools, and deep understanding of SQL Server/Azure SQL Database. You'll need proficiency in programming languages like C#/Java, and familiarity with Windows Operating System concepts.
