Description For SoC Hardware (Digital, Analog or PnP) Validation Engineer

Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is seeking a SoC Hardware (Digital, Analog or PnP) Validation Engineer to join their post-silicon validation team. This role is part of the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team, which is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware.

As a SoC Hardware Validation Engineer, you will:

  • Own post-silicon validation in functional, electrical, or power/performance areas
  • Define and implement silicon debug tools and capabilities
  • Develop validation strategies, requirements, environments, tools, and methodologies
  • Write and implement test plans, develop test content, scripts, and tools
  • Execute content in post-silicon, triage and debug failures
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, verification engineers, and IP providers
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 4+ years of technical engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of Computer Architecture and CPU/SoC validation principles
  • Proficiency in Python or C/C++
  • Experience in verification, logic development, validation, or validation tools
  • Expertise in areas such as Core, PCIe, Memory Controller, IO, Power Management, Coherency, or BIOS/Microcode development
