Software Engineer 2

Microsoft Edge team is seeking a Software Engineer 2 to join their WebView2 team. This role offers a rare opportunity to innovate in the browser space, which represents one of the largest revenue growth opportunities for Microsoft. The team is working on adopting the Chromium open source project to create better web compatibility and reduce fragmentation for web developers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with team members and stakeholders in an agile environment
• Working with new technologies on cutting-edge platforms
• Improving the web platform to enable native app experiences on the open web
• Leading team architecture vision and fostering engineering excellence
• Overseeing code quality and reviews
• Building engaging and delightful user experiences

The ideal candidate should have:

• 5+ years of experience in C, C++, C#, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong English communication skills and cross-team collaboration abilities
• High standards for quality and user experience
• Experience in software system design or API design

Preferred qualifications include experience with Web technologies (HTML, CSS, React, JavaScript), Windows app development, multi-threaded application development, and familiarity with the Chromium Open Source codebase.

This role offers the opportunity to work on Microsoft Edge, which has been well-received since its release in January 2020. The team is now focused on delivering unmet customer needs while contributing to the Chromium OSS project to move the broader web forward.
