Microsoft Security is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their International Sovereign Cloud Security Fundamentals Team. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining security software that ensures the reliability and performance of Microsoft's cloud security systems. The position focuses on enhancing security predictions, automating routine tasks, and improving operational efficiency across various cloud environments.

The team is part of Microsoft's broader security organization, which aims to make the world safer through end-to-end, simplified security solutions. Working in the Sovereign Cloud Security division, you'll be responsible for securing Microsoft's clouds for governments worldwide through enabling best-in-class security solutions.

The role offers a competitive base salary range of $98,300 - $193,200 USD (higher in SF and NYC areas), along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and investment options. You'll work in a hybrid environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility and minimal travel requirements (0-25%).

Key responsibilities include implementing security features, collaborating with stakeholders, creating design documents, and participating in on-call rotations. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of technical engineering experience, strong coding skills in languages like Python, Java, or C++, and a background in security or privacy domains.

This position requires U.S. citizenship due to its work with government agencies and must pass Microsoft's Cloud background check.
