Description For Software Engineering Intern

Rare, an Xbox Game Studio, is offering a Software Engineering Internship opportunity. The internship is based in Atherstone, Warwickshire, United Kingdom, and is an on-site position at the Rare studio. As an intern, you'll work on a variety of projects across different teams, including Pipeline, Live Services, and Site Reliability Engineering. You'll have the chance to work on bespoke C# tooling apps, features integrating with Xbox Live, PlayFab, and Azure, and contribute to the development of games.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and iterating on tools, apps, and technologies
  • Identifying and surfacing risks in work areas
  • Researching and developing software systems to support product development
  • Solving problems through sound engineering practices
  • Minimizing technical debt and maintenance hazards
  • Deploying and running services in an Azure environment

Required qualifications:

  • Good understanding or passion for computer programming and software creation
  • Hands-on experience or projects applying programming skills
  • Familiarity with C, C++, or C#
  • Legal authorization to work in the UK
