Description For Software Quality Engineer

Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios is seeking a passionate Software Quality Engineer to join their Studios Quality team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on AAA+ game titles, working at the intersection of gaming and quality engineering.

The position requires a detail-oriented professional with 4+ years of experience who will be responsible for driving comprehensive quality strategies for game features. You'll be working in a hybrid environment (up to 50% work from home) in the Seattle area, with a competitive salary range of $98,300 - $193,200.

As a Software Quality Engineer, you'll be instrumental in improving process efficiency and preventing issues in game titles. Your responsibilities will include executing quality strategies, communicating quality states to stakeholders, and leveraging data analytics to guide team direction. You'll work closely with development teams, production partners, and quality analysts to enhance overall product quality.

Responsibilities For Software Quality Engineer

  • Drive the end to end quality and test strategy for multiple large, complex features
  • Collaborate with software and data engineers to design, create, and leverage data insight
  • Develop manual test approaches for owned features
  • Share successes and failures with the broader Studios Quality organization
  • Build collaborative relationships across disciplines
  • Help build and foster a Quality first mindset

Requirements For Software Quality Engineer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years software industry experience OR Master's Degree with 2+ years experience
  • 4+ years experience using data, automation, telemetry systems
  • Solid interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication capabilities
  • Passionate about games and the players who play them
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Comfortable debugging code and using automation technologies
  • Experience with data centric tools (Kusto, PowerBI, Azure Data Bricks, SQL, Synapse)
