Description For Support Engineer (Data Integration)

Microsoft's Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) organization is seeking a Support Engineer specializing in Data Integration. This role is part of the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team, where you'll be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues for customers using Microsoft's data services and products. The position offers a hybrid work environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility.

As a Support Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Azure Data Factory, Hadoop, Spark, and various cloud services. You'll be part of a team that leverages Microsoft's AI technology to help customers resolve issues efficiently and securely. The role requires strong technical expertise in big data technologies, analytics, and programming languages like Python, Scala, and R.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of technical support or IT experience, with a strong background in data integration and analytics. Responsibilities For Support Engineer (Data Integration)

  • Own, investigate, and solve complex customer technical issues
  • Act as an advisor to customers
  • Lead in building communities with peer delivery roles
  • Share knowledge through readiness programs, technical coaching and mentoring
  • Engage with Microsoft Engineering/Supportability teams
  • Investigate potential product defects
  • Help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools

Requirements For Support Engineer (Data Integration)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 3+ years experience
  • Experience with Big Data or Analytics Products and Services
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Azure HDInsight, Azure Databricks
  • Experience with Azure Cosmos DB, NoSQL Services, MongoDB
  • Knowledge of Data Lake and Cloud Streaming technologies
  • Experience with Open Source Ecosystem (Linux, Apache)
  • Developer Experience: Python, Scala, R
  • Programming and debugging experience
  • Experience in RDMS such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
