Description For Technical Support Engineer

Microsoft is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their Customer Service & Support (CSS) team within the Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) organization. This role involves owning, troubleshooting, and solving customer technical issues, with a focus on delivering customer success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating and resolving customer technical issues
  • Collaborating within and across teams
  • Leveraging troubleshooting tools and practices
  • Participating in building communities with peer delivery roles
  • Developing technical and professional proficiency
  • Identifying potential product defects and contributing to product improvements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • 3+ years of technical support, technical consulting, or IT experience (or a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field with 1+ year of experience)
  • Expertise in Windows and Linux system administration, configuration, event logs, and performance analysis
  • Knowledge of network connectivity, Windows Active Directory, and security
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Desirable experience includes:

  • Web app development (C#, Java, ASP.NET, MVC)
  • Database knowledge and query language proficiency
  • Container solutions (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Cloud computing (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
