Description For Technical Support Engineering

Microsoft's Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) organization, with over 17,000 employees worldwide, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their Customer Service & Support (CSS) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with Microsoft's cutting-edge AI technology while helping customers resolve technical issues and maximize their Microsoft investments.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving customer technical problems, requiring expertise in Windows system administration, networking, and server management. The position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing up to 50% work from home, and requires 0-25% travel.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer science or IT, with at least 1 year of technical support experience. You'll work with various Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Networking, DNS, DHCP, and PowerShell scripting. This role demands excellent problem-solving abilities and superior customer service skills.

Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineering

  • Own, investigate and solve customer technical issues
  • Collaborate within and across teams using troubleshooting tools and practices
  • Lead or participate in building communities with peer delivery roles
  • Develop technical and professional proficiency through training
  • Identify potential product defects and escalate appropriately

Requirements For Technical Support Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 1+ years of technical support experience
  • OR 3+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or IT experience
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Windows System Administration and Configuration knowledge
  • Understanding of Windows Networking, Event Logs, DNS, DHCP, SMB
  • Server-side Administration and Troubleshooting skills
  • Active Directory knowledge
  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
