Microsoft's Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) organization, with over 18,000 employees worldwide, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join their Customer Service & Support (CSS) team. This role is part of the Applications & Infrastructure group, the largest and fastest-growing division in CSS, focusing on providing technical expertise to Microsoft's commercial customers.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting complex technical issues, working with both Windows and Linux environments, and utilizing your expertise in system administration, network connectivity, and security. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% work from home flexibility.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in system administration, scripting, and cloud technologies, combined with excellent problem-solving and collaboration abilities. Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineering

  • Own, investigate and solve complex customer technical issues
  • Act as advisor to customers, collaborating within and across teams
  • Lead in building communities with peer delivery roles
  • Share knowledge through readiness programs, technical coaching and mentoring
  • Deepen technical and professional proficiency
  • Engage with Microsoft Engineering/Supportability teams
  • Investigate potential product defects
  • Help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools

Requirements For Technical Support Engineering

Linux

Kubernetes
  • 5+ years technical support, technical consulting experience, or IT experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/IT with 3+ years experience
  • System Administration, Configuration of Windows and Linux Operating systems
  • Windows and Linux Event Logs, Syslogs
  • Windows and Linux Performance analysis using built-in performance counters
  • Windows and Linux Patch and Security Update Management
  • Network connectivity for private and public networks
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Security, and Access Control
  • Scripting skills in Powershell, Python, or similar languages
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
