Description For Technical Support Engineering

As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex customer technical issues, particularly focusing on SQL Server environments and database technologies. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% work from home flexibility and requires 0-25% travel.

The role combines technical expertise with customer service, requiring strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills. You'll work with SQL Server technologies, perform database performance tuning, and handle capacity planning while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineering

  • Own, investigate, and solve complex customer technical issues
  • Act as an advisor to the customer, collaborating within and across teams
  • Lead in building communities with peer delivery roles
  • Share knowledge through readiness programs, technical coaching and mentoring
  • Deepen technical and professional proficiency through training and readiness
  • Engage with Microsoft Engineering/Supportability teams to investigate potential product defects
  • Help develop automation techniques and diagnostic tools driving product improvements

Requirements For Technical Support Engineering

MySQL
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 3+ years of technical support experience
  • OR 5+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Experience in customer facing or customer support role
  • Experience with SQL Server or equivalent database product
  • Solid knowledge on performance tuning and database design, T-SQL language
  • Experience in capacity planning, sizing SQL Server environments and high availability configurations
