Milhouse Engineering and Construction, Inc., a Chicago-based firm founded in 2001, is seeking an Electrical Engineer (P.E) III-V to join their rapidly expanding MEP team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support East Coast clients and work on a variety of projects in the MEP and Heavy Industry sector.

As an Electrical Engineer in this position, you will be responsible for performing mid to high-level complexity design and project management. You'll work on a diverse range of projects, acting as either a lead or support resource for prime and sub-consultant work. Your expertise will be crucial in designing low and medium voltage power distribution systems, motor control circuits, raceway systems, fire alarm systems, underground utility plans and profiles, interior and outdoor lighting systems, cathodic protection systems, and panelboard and apparatus schedules.

Key responsibilities include managing projects to schedule and budget, ensuring quality standards are met, and interfacing with utility companies. You'll also be involved in shop drawing reviews, preparing project documents and reports, and maintaining project files. The ideal candidate will have a PE License, five years of relevant experience, and proficiency in CAD software.

Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer (P.E) III-V

  • Design to client and regulatory requirements
  • Manage mid to large size projects to schedule and budget
  • Keep management advised of quality, schedule and budget variances
  • Manage subordinate or other discipline resources
  • Shop drawing review and disposition
  • Prepare project documents and reports
  • Maintain project files
  • Create and enforce project quality plan
  • Data and document entry into various platforms
  • Report safety, health and quality issues
  • Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
  • Assist management as directed
  • CAD and CADD

Requirements For Electrical Engineer (P.E) III-V

  • Four year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution
  • Five years of relevant experience
  • PE License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient in ACAD or MicroStation
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Knowledge of CPM schedule analysis
  • Familiar with discipline specific design software and design management systems
  • Knowledge of standard format specification development
