Description For Mechanical Engineer II-III

Milhouse Engineering and Construction is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their Aviation team. This role involves performing mid to high-level complexity design and project management on a variety of airport-related projects. The ideal candidate will work on design-build projects within airport terminals, runways, parking lots, and similar initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing HVAC systems and performing associated calculations
  • Creating hydronic systems and conducting flow/pressure calculations
  • Sizing and specifying mechanical equipment (boilers, lift stations, pump stations, pumps, chillers)
  • Designing plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Coordinating underground utilities and producing specifications

The position requires a four-year technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution, a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT. The successful candidate should be an EIT working towards a PE license and have knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer II-III

  • Design to client and regulatory requirements
  • Manage mid to large size projects to schedule and budget
  • Keep Milhouse Engineering management advised of all quality, schedule and budget variances in a timely manner
  • Shop drawing review and disposition
  • Preparing project documents and reports
  • Maintaining project files
  • Creating and enforcing project quality plan
  • Data and document entry into various platforms
  • Reporting safety, health and quality issues to management
  • Prepare contract amendments, change order documentation, and claims documentation
  • Assist management as directed
  • System calculations (building loads, pump calculation, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer II-III

  • Four year technical degree from an ABET accredited institution
  • Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience
  • EIT working towards PE license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Knowledge of standard format specification development
  • Knowledge of assorted vendor equipment selection programs and other software applicable to the design process
  • Active memberships in discipline specific professional organization such as ASHRAE or ASPE
