As a Senior II Controls Engineer (Instrumentation), you'll join their Engineering team in Vancouver, reporting to the Team Lead – Controls.

The role demands expert-level proficiency in PLC programming and control systems, where you'll lead the development of IEC 61131-3 standard programs and interactive interfaces. You'll be responsible for spearheading cross-functional projects, overseeing system design and verification, and ensuring the highest quality standards in production procedures and testing protocols.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals with 6-8+ years in controls or electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a 4-year degree in a relevant electrical discipline and professional engineering registration (P.Eng) in BC. Your expertise in PLC programming, Ethernet networking, and industrial communication protocols will be essential for success.

Responsibilities For Senior II Controls Engineer (Instrumentation)

  • Lead development and implementation of IEC 61131-3 standard PLC programs and interactive user interfaces
  • Lead cross-functional projects for system/unit root cause and failure analysis
  • Lead design, specification, and verification of controls system components
  • Oversee collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior management
  • Oversee development of production procedures, instructions and testing standards
  • Lead collaboration with suppliers and vendors
  • Lead projects to evaluate component performance
  • Oversee development of test protocols and design verification testing
  • Provide expert level technical guidance and coaching
  • Conduct peer reviews and offer thought leadership

Requirements For Senior II Controls Engineer (Instrumentation)

Linux
  • 4-year degree in relevant electrical discipline
  • 6-8+ years of experience in controls, electrical, instrumentations, or relevant discipline
  • Expert level proficiency with PLC or embedded system programming
  • Expert level proficiency with Ethernet Networking and industrial communication protocols
  • Experience in designing and troubleshooting control panels and PCB design
  • Experience with CODESYS and HMI design
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional engineer registration (P.Eng) in BC or eligibility required
  • Legally able to work in Canada
