As a Data Engineer at MNTN, you'll be instrumental in building the platform to generate, track, manage, and triage key business and client success metrics. Your role will involve becoming an expert on MNTN's Data Pipelines, Infrastructure, and Processes, working cross-functionally, designing architecture with observability, creating and managing ETL/ELT workflows, organizing data and metrics, and ensuring rapid insights across all available information.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining high-quality data pipelines
- Transforming billions of raw data points daily into accessible information
- Organizing visualizations, reporting, and alerting for performance illustration
- Investigating critical incidents and ensuring issue resolution
We're looking for candidates with:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and complex data modeling
- Experience with distributed processing engines like Spark
- Strong skills in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with data warehouse technologies and cloud computing environments
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical topics

Responsibilities For Data Engineer
- Become the expert on the MNTN Data Pipelines, Infrastructure and Processes
- Work cross functionally across the organization
- Design architecture with observability to maintain high quality data pipelines
- Create and manage ETL/ELT workflows that transform our billions of raw data points daily into quickly accessible information across our databases and data warehouses
- Organize data and metrics for measurable and trackable confidence in building ad buying and ML features and client performance to fulfill agreed-upon quality standards
- Organize visualizations, reporting, and alerting necessary to rapidly illustrate performance, data quality, trends and opportunities
- Investigate critical incidents and otherwise ensure that any issues reach resolution by the relevant parties
Requirements For Data Engineer
- 5+ years of experience related to data engineering, analysis and modeling complex data
- Experience with distributed processing engines for big data such as Spark
- Strong Experience with programming languages such as Python. Familiarity with algorithms.
- Strong experience in SQL, data modeling, and manipulating and extracting large data sets.
- Hands-on experience working with data warehouse technologies. Familiarity with building data pipelines and architectures and designing ETL flows.
- Familiarity with software processes and tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, and Airflow
- Experience with working in a cloud computing environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical topics to non-technical audiences across the organization
