Applied AI Engineer (Tech Lead)

Modern Treasury is seeking an Applied AI Engineer (Tech Lead) to spearhead the development of AI-driven solutions for our fintech platform. This role combines cutting-edge AI research with practical application in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end development of AI systems, focusing on recommendation engines, NLP, and information retrieval
• Drive innovation by identifying new opportunities to apply machine learning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into sophisticated AI models
• Oversee architecture, training, and serving of deep learning models
• Conduct applied product research to integrate latest AI techniques
• Develop and optimize machine learning pipelines for high-throughput, low-latency model serving
• Ensure AI solutions adhere to regulatory standards and fintech best practices

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field
• 7-10+ years of industry experience in applied machine learning
• Strong knowledge of modern recommendation engines and NLP techniques
• Experience with open-source deep learning models and scalable infrastructure
• Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries
• Familiarity with cloud-based AI services
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to apply research to real-world problems

This position offers a competitive salary range of $200K – $360K, along with equity and generous benefits. The role can be based out of San Francisco, New York, or remote, providing flexibility for the right candidate.
