Description For Senior Cloud Engineer

Mollie, one of Europe's fastest-growing fintech companies, is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join their team in Lisbon. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and scalability of Mollie's payment-related services, which are used by tens of thousands of merchants and consumers daily.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll work closely with system and software engineers to ship new products while maintaining a high level of system reliability and security. You'll be responsible for setting and maintaining SLOs and SLAs, designing for failure, and implementing automation to keep downtime at a minimum.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating and monitoring highly available systems
  • Designing and implementing scalable solutions for a fast-growing platform
  • Collaborating with partnership teams on integration applications
  • Improving deployment processes and reducing risk through CI/CD
  • Conducting capacity planning and making data-driven decisions
  • Participating in 24/7 on-call rotations to uphold system reliability

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience running highly available systems
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform or similar cloud-based systems
  • Strong skills in a high-level programming language (Go, Python, Ruby, or PHP)
  • Experience with CI/CD and automation tools
  • Knowledge of Linux systems and shell scripting
  • Ability to handle large-scale applications and maintain high standards for production systems
