Description For Site Reliability Engineer

Mollie, one of Europe's fastest-growing fintech companies, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their team in Lisbon. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by working on next-generation financial APIs and payments platforms, ensuring they are ultra-reliable.

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Mollie, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and improving payment-related services used by tens of thousands of merchants and consumers daily. Your focus will be on quality and well-designed user experiences, translating into well-operated and monitored systems. You'll need to design for failure, understand distributed systems, and have a passion for automation.

Working closely with system and software engineers, you'll help ship new products with a pragmatic and sound mindset. Your role will involve striking a balance between frequent shipping and maintaining high levels of system reliability and security. You'll also collaborate with stakeholders to set and maintain SLOs and SLAs that meet business and merchant needs.

A key aspect of your role will be working with partnership teams to build and maintain infrastructure for integration applications connecting Mollie to partner platforms. With the high volume of payments processed every second, your skills in code quality and system scalability will be crucial in building scalable products and thinking ahead.

This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in running and operating highly available systems. You should be skilled with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and proficient in high-level programming languages such as Go, Python, Ruby, or PHP. Knowledge of CI/CD, experience with large-scale applications, and a good understanding of Linux systems are also essential.
