This role is part of the Technical Services team, which works 24/7 to ensure MongoDB deployments are running optimally. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in search technologies, and a strong background in database administration and performance tuning.

Key responsibilities include supporting strategic customers, resolving complex technical issues, developing troubleshooting methodologies, and acting as a subject-matter expert for Atlas Search and Vector Search products. The role requires excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to translate technical concepts for customers.

Responsibilities For Technical Services Engineer (Lucene/Solr/Search expert)

  • Support and guide strategic customers
  • Resolve technical issues through research, reproduction, and troubleshooting
  • Build and create standard methodologies for technical troubleshooting
  • Review and test new features before public release
  • Gather feedback from customers and engage with various teams to improve products
  • Act as technical subject-matter-expert for assigned customers
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers

Requirements For Technical Services Engineer (Lucene/Solr/Search expert)

MongoDB
Linux
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, and 3+ years of search expertise (Elasticsearch (ELK Stack), Lucene, Solr or similar)
  • 5+ years of experience with administering RDBMSs such as Oracle, Postgres, mySQL etc.
  • Experience with Database Performance tuning and benchmarking
  • Strong diagnostic/troubleshooting aptitude
  • Solid fundamentals in Linux, Networking, and Diagnostics
  • Experience with scalable and highly available distributed systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • B.Tech / B.S. or equivalent work experience
