Description For Staff Product Engineer

Moonvalley is at the forefront of generative AI technology, developing cutting-edge models for creating professional-grade commercials and cinematic experiences. Their flagship HD model, Marey, is built on exclusively licensed data for Hollywood and enterprise applications. The company has raised over $70M from prestigious investors including General Catalyst, Bessemer, Khosla Ventures & YCombinator.

As a Staff Product Engineer, you'll be joining a unique team that combines talent from DeepMind, OpenAI, and Meta, alongside accomplished filmmakers and creative professionals. This role is perfect for someone who embodies the fusion of engineering, product management, and UX thinking. You'll have the autonomy to architect, build, and launch product features end-to-end, while maintaining a strong focus on user experience and technical excellence.

The position requires someone who can think like a founder and execute like a solo operator, with the wisdom to know when collaboration is necessary. You'll be working with TypeScript and Python, leveraging AI-powered development tools, and contributing to infrastructure at scale. The role offers a hybrid work environment with company meetups in London, UK or North America (LA, Toronto).

Key responsibilities include end-to-end feature development, user-centered engineering, roadmap decision-making, and architectural planning. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience, strong engineering fundamentals, and a deep understanding of AI technology. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have previous experience in founding or early-stage startups.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technology and help shape the future of media and entertainment. The role offers competitive compensation ($200K-$300K) and the chance to make a significant impact in a rapidly growing company. If you're passionate about AI, hate unnecessary process overhead, and thrive in autonomous, high-impact environments, this role could be perfect for you.
