Motive, a leading provider of physical operations management solutions, is seeking an Embedded QA Automation Engineer for a fixed-term position in Buffalo, NY. The company serves over 120,000 customers across various industries, providing innovative solutions that combine safety, operations, and finance management in a single system.

The role focuses on ensuring quality and reliability of Motive's embedded AG products, particularly the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) system. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in hardware-software integration testing and embedded systems, backed by an Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background.

This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in the automotive and logistics space, developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies for embedded systems. You'll be responsible for both manual and automated testing, working closely with development teams to ensure product quality and reliability.

The role requires 3+ years of experience and offers a competitive hourly rate of $25-30. While this is a fixed-term contract position without full-time benefits, it provides valuable experience with an industry leader in fleet management and operational technology. Responsibilities For Embedded QA Automation Engineer

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for embedded systems
  • Design, implement & maintain functional testing and deliver quality features
  • Perform manual and automated testing to identify defects
  • Collaborate with development team on system requirements
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks
  • Debug and troubleshoot embedded systems issues
  • Perform system integration and regression testing

Requirements For Embedded QA Automation Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of proven experience as an Embedded QA Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems and hardware-software integration
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and QA testing life cycles
  • Experience with JIRA for bug tracking
  • Experience in Mobile/Web integration testing with Embedded Systems
  • Proficiency in testing tools and automated testing
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, and SQL
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces and communication protocols
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
