This role requires a strong background in data governance, with expertise in SQL, GCP, and various data management tools.

The position offers the opportunity to work with a global community in a 100% remote capacity, specifically for candidates based in Colombia or Peru. The role follows Chilean working hours and calendar, with an initial 3-month freelance contract that has the potential for renewal.

Responsibilities For Data Governance Engineer

  • Ensure compliance with data governance regulations throughout the data lifecycle
  • Manage data governance automation with quality processes, security, data privacy, and metadata management
  • Implement and maintain Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Dictionary tools
  • Manage Data Contracts and Metadata
  • Orchestrate proper data security and privacy
  • Define and coordinate guidelines for data integration processes
  • Collaborate with Business and Technology Teams

Requirements For Data Governance Engineer

  • University degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • SQL experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in Data Governance or BI related to Data Governance
  • Cloud Technologies GCP
  • Knowledge of relevant data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
  • Metadata and Data Catalog expertise
  • Data Lifecycle and Data Domains knowledge
  • Dataplex (desirable)
